Night Time Industries Association launches open application process to appoint industry leader
Sydney, 10 April 2025: The Night Time Industries Association (NTIA) has commenced an open application process to appoint a new Chairperson, marking a significant opportunity for a qualified leader to help shape the future of Australia’s night-time economy.
The search follows the announcement that Amanda Lampe will step down as NTIA Chair on April 15, 2025. During this transition, NTIA Board Member and Solotel Chief Operations Officer Ben Stephens will serve as Acting Chair, ensuring continuity while the organisation undergoes the selection process.
The NTIA’s Nominations Committee is overseeing the recruitment of a new Chair who will champion the association’s advocacy efforts, strengthen industry partnerships, and drive long-term growth.
NTIA Nominations Committee Member and CEO of Odd Culture Group James Thorpe says this is an ideal opportunity for a leader to play an active role in shaping the night time economy.
“The NTIA plays a critical role in advocating for a thriving night-time economy, and we are looking for a Chair who will build on this momentum.
“The night time economy covers many different industries so we encourage leaders with governance experience, strategic vision, and a commitment to industry growth to apply.”
Outgoing Chair Amanda Lampe reflected on her time in the role and the future leadership opportunity.
“It has been a privilege to serve as Chair and work with such a passionate community dedicated to strengthening Australia’s nightlife. This is an exciting time for the NTIA, and I look forward to seeing a new leader take the organisation to even greater heights.”
Night Time Industries Association CEO Mick Gibb thanked Amanda Lampe for her leadership and role in shaping the advocacy agenda.
“Amanda’s leadership has been instrumental in shaping the NTIA’s advocacy agenda and strengthening our voice on behalf of the night-time economy. Her commitment and strategic vision have helped drive real change for our industry, and we are incredibly grateful for her dedication.
“As we look ahead, we remain focused on building on this momentum to support a thriving and sustainable night-time sector.”
Expressions of interest for the NTIA Chair position are now open. The organisation encourages applicants with strong governance capabilities, industry expertise, and a commitment to advancing the night-time economy.
