NTIA Announces CEO Transition After Four Years of Leadership
The Night Time Industries Association (NTIA) has announced that Chief Executive Officer Mick Gibb has resigned from the role, concluding a four-year tenure that saw the organisation strengthen its position as Australia’s leading voice for the night-time economy.
During his leadership, NTIA expanded its advocacy across planning, transport, policing, taxation and regulatory reform, while building stronger relationships with government, industry and members. The organisation also significantly strengthened its research capability, delivering initiatives including the NightPulse reports and Quarterly Night-Time Economy Insights to support evidence-based policy development.
Mick’s tenure coincided with a period of significant change for the sector. NTIA played an important role in shaping major reforms to improve the operating environment for hospitality, live music and entertainment businesses, including contributing to the NSW Vibrancy Reforms and broader discussions around the future of Australia’s night-time economy.
Beyond policy advocacy, NTIA continued to grow its membership, expand industry partnerships and strengthen its reputation as a trusted source of research and practical policy recommendations. This work has helped position the organisation as a leading representative body for venues, operators and businesses across the night-time economy.
NTIA Chair Professor Jane Burns thanked Mick for his contribution to the organisation and the broader industry.

The NTIA Board has commenced the recruitment process for a new Chief Executive Officer. Mick will continue to support the organisation during the transition to help ensure continuity across advocacy, member engagement and ongoing strategic initiatives.
NTIA remains focused on delivering practical reforms that support a safer, more vibrant and sustainable night-time economy, with its advocacy priorities continuing across transport, planning, policing, taxation and regulatory reform.
